Dogs and Roses.

The last of my "General Galliani" roses have pride of place at my table.
At the beginning of Spring they are bright red and by Winter, they begin to turn all sorts of colours towards cream and apricot. Given the chance they would bloom all year long and they (I have a few bushes) have never suffered a day of ill health in their life. What a rose.
This is my latest project which Jonno is finding highly amusing.
It's going to be a fox terrier for my brother-in-law's birthday and at the moment, Jonno finds it hilarious that I have made a skinned dog for a dog lover. I keep telling him it will look different when it is stuffed. I think Jonno would prefer it if I sent it like this anonymously... brothers - hmmmm.
So hopefully when it is all stitched up, the result will be like this (although I have changed the markings). Hopefully a lot less like a skinned fox terrier.
Well, today has been a busy one, unpacking and clearing some of the gangrenous mess my house is sadly famous for. I was partway through the morning when I remembered that book group was on tonight and horror of all horrors... it was at my house. Needless to say, rather than completely cleaning the whole house, I concentrated on the high traffic areas and then had a nap. So much better a cheerful host with hidden rooms of terrifying mess than a completely clean house with hidden host filled with a terrifying emotional mess. Wouldn't you say. Naps really do plump you up and make you a better person.
Lots of love,
Kate xxooxx.
