My Creative Space.

My creative space takes over the kitchen table...
The big blue couch...
Wait hang on, it shares the couch with Tinkerbell (she takes over most of that space)...
And then, any spare surface that wool can be tangled upon is covered in unformed, unthought of as yet, projects.
After that, there isn't much of the house left...
But that's okay, it's all insulation against the winter creeping towards us.
Oodles of creative spaces can be found over here.
P.S. The beer bottle tops won't be staying on the vest, I was just postioning where the buttons will go. Jonno thought they looked great.

Beanbag Making (and a house full of little balls).

Those balls are supposed to be in the big fabric bag below.
Not looking too comfortable for a bean bag is it...
It took a while, but some of them went in.
How great are Echino fabrics.
Now the big test for the bean bag. Can two boys fit at once? Without feeling cramped and fighting for space?
YES!!!!!!!
I think they can and even better, there is still lots of room for me!
Now, time to start chasing all of these little white balls that are scurrying around the house pretending to be snow.

Saying Goodbye to Brown.

After years of looking at Hugo's curtains with distaste I have finally taken the plunge and renovated them. I bought them with this purpose in mind however, it was a job that kept moving down the list. His bedroom was a warm, dark cave at night and for a long time, that was all that mattered. But not any more. In fact, even looking at the photos of how his curtain used to be embarrasses me. What was I thinking!!!!
The process of sewing up the squares was so satisfying I even began to have little dreams of one day graduating to a quilt. I think that transition is still a wee way away ay yayayayay. Sorry about that, perhaps I should have had a nap today. xxooxxooxx.

A Small Monday Moment.

Tomorrow, the newly found quiet of this school term is going to be suddenly displaced with costume making for the school play. Little girls have to be turned into sheaves of wheat and boys into villagers. I am looking forward to it but it certainly makes me want to drink tea and knit today while I still can.
I hope your week is starting with a small moment of peace. xxooxxooxx.

Sunday Lunch.

My heirloom tomatoes are still bouncing off their vines.
Inspiration for a quilt maybe?
Lunch....
I made some gluten bread today (Hugo and I are gluten-free). It was so much more satisfying to bake!!! Like real bread or something.
A good cup of tea to wash down a big lunch. Stripes make it taste better.
What a great Sunday. The cows are now dry and so once Jonno has done his shifting and feeding out, it feels like a proper weekend. We had Jonno's parents over for lunch and all just melted into the gentle rhythms of the day. Autumn is the best. xxooxxooxx.

My Creative Space - Good Stuff.

This is my new skirt I bought from the second hand shop. Who would throw this out I ask you? And then I can thank them.
For about the first time ever I have immediately printed out photos and put them into an album. I feel so organised.
The current obsession coming from my head and hands are big wool flowers. I am not quite sure what will happen with them at the end but I can't wait to find out.
And wahoo, it really is Autumn. The air is warm and dry, nights cold and leaves are becoming very greedy for colour.
And a pile of stuff that perhaps could be put away but is just so nice to have around. The kind of stuff that qualifies as good company.
This is my creative space at the moment. Home and the little bits of inspiration that crop up here and there from unexpected places... the little bits that then swell up into ideas and then into life.

A Morning.

I am settling back into the rhythm of home life and pottering. This morning I have been finishing the unpacking and have made a chocolate cake for the boys for when they come home tired and ravenous. The sun is dull and the kitchen lights are glowing. Warmth is flowing into the room from the open oven door and my lunch is sitting, ready to be eaten. I will make a cup of tea in a minute and drink it in bed with my new book, then slide down into the sheets and have a little nap. I won't tell anyone about this.
