A new Crafting Book.

This is my absolute and utter favourite sort of thing to find in the mailbox.
Especially when it contains something like this...
With projects like that.
It is so much fun involving the kids on craft projects now - before it always seemed a little bit like work... my expectations have changed a lot along the way and now I find it much easier just going with their flow rather than my guidelines - I know this comes naturally to most people but it took me a little while to get used to it.
And as for me right now, I am going to have a little nap (I only manage to sneak a couple in per week now which is pretty sad for a dedicated napper) and then make some angel wings out of liberty for the rabbity creature above.

On a Monday.

This morning we have been busy with school runs, swimming lessons, reclaiming old pin cushions, pressing the previous evening's knitting efforts and generally tidying up. Fortunately Hugo decided to pitch in and announced he would like to clean the windows. He immediately had a bucket of hot, soapy water and a window washer in his hands and then he happily spent a good half an hour scrubbing the freshly painted swirls that the dogs leave behind with their shaggy coats. I came along after and scraped the water off. I like that...
More sewing to do for Archie's school play but it is all progressing thank goodness. I will give you a peek later on in the week.

Don't Try this at Home.

Archie and Hugo play so well together that I really can just sit on a comfy chair and tune out...
Don't worry too much, Jonno was compelled to do a mock up when he was teaching some archery to the boys.

My Creative Space...

My creative space comes once again in lots of little moments; Buttons in a box.
A spider hanging it's web on the line to dry.
A tree knitting it's own web!!!
Labels reminding me to make stuff to then attach them to.
And Archie doing some fine garden planning. Note the gate to the side and bulbs planted in the corners.
I hope this week your house is teeming with creative spaces too.
For more, hop over to Kirsty's.

They Just Never Seem to Look in your Toilet!!!

Today I had a few mothers over from Archie's school for a sewing of costumes morning. This was fine until yesterday late afternoon when the local paper rang, wanting to take some photos. At the best of times, my house is a cheerful mess but after a weekend away it was a seemingly big enough job to have it looking respectable enough to allow a small group of very understanding mums in. So as you can imagine, last night and this morning I ran around cleaning and tidying any surface in my way.
When the newspaper lady came, she didn't use the toilet, the kitchen or look at the floor. Instead she took a photo of us standing amidst the sewing chaos. I think I might remember that for next time. By the way, do you like my new necklace from the weekend. I am pretty over-the-moonly happy about it. xxooxxooxx.

Knitting Vests in the Round.

There is nothing like a freshly wound ball of wool. It's like having a photo of a newborn as you just don't know what they will become and you don't mind because they are perfect as they are.
The newly finished vest - sadly, I replaced the bottle caps with crocheted buttons. I just didn't think they were that appropriate for a little girl. I knitted the vest in the round and it was ridiculously simple. I know I have said it before and I will post all of the patterns I have promised and I will include this vest because it is so simple and enjoyable. Just not this weekend as it is a big, big, busy one.
Have a good weekend. xxooxxooxx.
P.S. I don't really want you to enter because I am desperate to win it, but there is a wonderful giveaway over at Kirsty's and I can't not talk about it.

My Creative Space.

My creative space takes over the kitchen table...
The big blue couch...
Wait hang on, it shares the couch with Tinkerbell (she takes over most of that space)...
And then, any spare surface that wool can be tangled upon is covered in unformed, unthought of as yet, projects.
After that, there isn't much of the house left...
But that's okay, it's all insulation against the winter creeping towards us.
Oodles of creative spaces can be found over here.
P.S. The beer bottle tops won't be staying on the vest, I was just postioning where the buttons will go. Jonno thought they looked great.
