Crochet Caravan Pattern News!

Thank you so much for all of your queries on the caravan pattern! Your comments have been so lovely and I am very happy to say that I have a book coming out in September which contains not only a pattern for the caravan, but also things like ice cream trucks, lakeside cabins, tents, teepees and canal boats! I have been lucky enough to have Kyle Books publish the book and at this stage it is provisionally called, "Camp Crochet: From Cabins to Caravans, Create Your Own Camping Scenes in Crochet".

It is all very exciting but also exhausting. Yesterday was my deadline and wahoo, I made it!!!!!!
I was given the green light mid January so as you can imagine, crocheting and writing took place all hours of the day and night to get it finished. I have to admit that whenever anybody offered me any sympathy, I did have to say that it was secretly the most wonderful thing ever as it meant that I had to crochet my heart out. Things like dirty dishes and socks could slide into the periphery!
I can't wait to show you a few more sneaky peeks!
Lots of love,
Kate. xxooxx.
p.s. These photos are not official photos from the book - just ones I took from home before sending them off to the UK.

I already have your Stanley and the Hot Air Balloon book and think that it is fantastic, so I am very excited to get hold of this new book, especially since you are a real story teller with your crochet-crafts. Absolutely fantastic! I hope you'll get some rest now, but probably you'll be too excited to sleep. :)

  31. I have been waiting and waiting for the pattern on the caravan!! So excited for your book to come out!! I want to make this adorable caravan for my grandma! She has been taking us kids camping since we were potty trained, sometimes ten grandchildren all at one time! God Bless Her!! I believe she will love it, and most likely keep the little caravan inside her camper, close by while we're camping.

  32. Hi Kate, I'm thrilled that you have a book in progress. Can't wait to buy it. You must have spent so many hours making this - did you get crocheter's cramp during the marathon? I do a lot of crochet for family and friends so I know how one's fingers can ache but, like you, it's part of my life. I just love to crochet. I'm 79 and been crocheting since I was about 10 and hope to continue for many years to come. Life wouldn't be the same without my crochet hook. All the best
    Eve

  35. Hi Kate
I'm writing from Canada. I love your works and ordered your book Let's Go Camping. I was so excited when I just read my emails and your book is on its way to me lol. Can hardly wait to get it. First thing I'm going to make is the camper/caravan. I've been admiring these pictures for a while now. So time to make once my copy of your book gets into my crocheting hands.

Keep up all the good works and I wish you success with your book. I'll be sure and tell my friends about it.

    Thank you

    Francine

    1. Hi Eve - I haven't started to sell through my site yet (the postage looks as though it may be crippling) but it will be available from all online bookstores and good bookshops! Love Kate. xx

    2. Thank you Kate. Do you know if it will be available in a UK book store? If not, I will just have to pay the postage (it will be worth it) because I just can't wait to make it. I will love to see it on display in my daughter and son-in-laws showroom. I think I told you earlier that they have a Motor Home Security Business and a campsite which complements their business as customers can stay overnight for free when they are having an alarm system installed. I do hope I will be able to make as good a job of it as you have. I have been crocheting for many years but have never tried anything like this before. I truly think you are a genius to have created such a fantastic project. All the best Eve x PS my eldest grandson and his wife KATE is expecting their second baby within the next few days - just had to let you know that because her name is also Kate.
