These roses were a great reminder to me yesterday when the house (as mentioned previously) had opened a hell-mouth portal and had demonically charged mess spurting forth from every corner. The roses sat there, still roses despite the mess, still fragrant, beautiful and calm. Right now the boys are having the special treat of watching 'Masterchef'. Archie is so excited because one of the girls is having a big cook-off involving a complicated dessert, "I'll get lots of tips for you Mum". 'Sponge Bob' and 'Masterchef' are definately the top shows in our house... who would have thunk it.
Lots and lots of sewing went on today in a slightly tidier house. Photos tomorrow.

I love a tidy house, there's nothing more distressing than chaos, where you can't find anything, is there? but then again, a little bit of untidiness is homely too, don't you think? Sounds like you've got the right balance, lots of sewing, which will be messy, in a fairly tidy house!
Wouldn't it be great if one of your boys suddenly cooked a dish from Masterchef for you, perfectly!

Your roses are just what I need as I sit the chaos of our home and try to find the energy to do something about it.
Sponge bob is top here too, in fact my son's goldfish are named after Spomge Bob Characters!
I just love your photos. I always try to have one room in the house looking okay, so when I need to I can ignore the rest and go hang out there for a breather! (Actually, I can't sit down that long... I really just like being able to look at it!) :) K
Your photos are sooo pretty, and I too have often marveled at how a posy of pretty fresh flowers can act as a great visual and emotional Diverter-from-Mess when the house gets bad.
I just loved your little crocheted horse in your previous post too...ever so cute, and not a bit melancholy.
