Family Times...

On Thursday morning, we found that our little Bundle rabbit died in her sleep during the night. Archie was heartbroken and so we wrapped Bundle in a cloth nappy and brought her inside for lots of cuddles until the boys were ready to say goodbye. After lots of love and talking, we buried Bundle up on our bank by the side of the house, a place where Archie loves to spend quiet time and planted a tree on top. Very sad but oh my goodness how much animals have to teach us, not only in life. (It is now Sunday and Archie is doing very well - Mum did a painting for him and he adores it)

Aside from small and sad funerals it almost feels a bit heartless to say that we have been having a lovely time with Mum. Lots and lots of knitting (my jumper is starting to come together), painting, reading, chatting. We do just love her so much.

Tonight is Mum's last night so I had better hop off the computer now...
Lots of love to you all,
Kate xxooxxooxx.

Very sad to hear about the rabbit, it is hard to lose a pet. I love the painting your mum did, just gorgeous.
Your jumper is looking fantastic, as if it wouldn't, being created by your clever hands. :-)
I do so love the photo of your little man holding the rose, just beautiful.

Kate, I'm so sorry about Bundle. I know how much you all loved your bunny. In a way it's good that it happened while your Mum was with you to give a little extra love. I'm loving the jumper! Your colour choices are as usual gorgeous! Love to all, Amanda xxxxxxxxx special hug for Archie.xxxx

I do so love your blog and am not sure if I have commented before but just had to say how sorry I was to hear that little bunny had died. It's such a sad little lesson in life for children to lose a pet and my heart goes out to poor Archie.

Keep smiling, Heather x

Poor Archie,
I read before about rabbits taking strokes and all kinds of things. I had a friend who had a rabbit and the vet told her the rabbit was affected likely due to all of the activity in her busy household and that they like to be in quiet atmospheres. I'm glad Archie had the time to spend with his pet and as you say, will have learned lots.

Your Mom is very talented!

What a sad post, what a sad time for you and your boy's. I am a firm believer in keeping pets, as you said they teach us so much in life and I also belive in death. No matter how hard it is, life and death is part is what the world is ultimately about. You are giving your boys a great opportunity to learn about loving and caring unconditionally and you are preparing them on a deep level to live their lives and create relationships in a compassionate and loving way. Bring on the Pets! Thats what I say! Love them, enjoy them, grieve for them and celebrate the memories after they are gone... Life at its fullest.
Love Jane

Oh God, I'm in shock, I can't believe your baby rabbit died, I'm so sorry to hear this, I'm in shock. Bundle had a lovely life with you though, that's one consolation. Love your mum's painting, will pop back to her blog later, to say so to her. Big virtual hug for all the family and yourself Kate. Your stripy jumper looks fab by the way. I adore, really adore stripes.Love Vanessa xxx

So sad for poor little Archie - do tell him that little Bundle was very lucky to be loved by him and I'm sure it made him very happy. What a terrible shame and a huge shock for everyone - you wouldn't have expected it at all would you. It must be so upsetting for everyone. Dear little Bundle, such a sweet little rabit - a short life, but full of love and cuddles. A loving, sensitive child is a wonderful thing - animals need people like him. Lots of love to Archie xx
