The Last Roses.

I made myself begin pruning the roses today. The rose above 'General Galliani' is always so hard to cut into as it produces year round flowers that get smaller and creamier as time goes on. I had to remind myself how big, fat and raspberry red they will be in the spring and forced my secateurs into action.

And here are a few sneaky peeks of a table I am renovating. The oilcloth was tacked on with little thumb tacks that were extremely fiddly. I then solved the problem by sticking a piece of blue tack on to the hammer, wedging the thumb tack in and giving an almighty whack. One hit and it went all the way in. Have a cosy Sunday night, xxooxxooxx.

  1. Those roses are beautiful. And remember, it's only a matter of weeks now until they start sprouting with the promise of new blooms. Bring it on!

  2. love your table reno. just popping by to say hi!
    xx Amy

  3. Beautiful roses! I never thought of using Blu tac for the tacks! I used to use a rectangle of stiff card with a slit at one edge. I put the tack in the slit and banged hell out of it. Have a lovely day Kate. XXX

  4. Such pretty flowers all through your post! That is a great idea for the tacks. Must have been satisfying!
