My Creative Space... and the hidden heart.

This week's creative space is the good, old kitchen table which sits next to the fireplace. I can do finishing touches to brooches and necklaces all the while keeping my back nice and warm. I tend to chill down dramatically mid-creative flow.
When a piece is finished it is then flipped (with love and wishes) into the container to my left, all part of the process of readying myself for one of my first ever market stalls (the actual first was so long ago it doesn't even count anymore). If anyone is local to the Bay of Plenty, it will be held at Western Ave Oval in Omokoroa, Sunday 7th, from 9am - 12pm. I'm nervous. I hope people will talk to me. I hope they don't jeer and mock me and put me in stocks and pelt me with cooked fish eyeballs... you never know.
By the way, there is a heart hidden somewhere on this page - good luck.

  10. I only wish I could get to a market to see some of your beautiful handiwork close up, and buy me a brooch or two! Perfection. Oh, and I'm not even looking for hearts this week, I seem to have NO talent whatsoever in the eye-spy department.

  11. I've only recently discovered your blog but I love all your gorgeous crochet and your painting that you posted a little while back.

I'm sure you'll do great with your market stall.

  13. Does it matter that I'm your sister and had some assistance on the phone? I guess I would have found it had I realised the full picture wasn't fitting into my screen... hah! Best of luck on Sunday!

  14. Of course they will speak to you! I'm sure you will be winning the hearts of many at the markets and if you get the occasional adolescent who is only there because their parents dragged them along, do ignore any disparaging comments they make and remember that they will hopefully grow up one day!

Now, as to the heart in the pic, it elludes me!

  19. Hi, i love your stuff. It's really good how you're packaging it well. Best of luck. Don't listen to the negative comments. Some people just don't get craft. I would suggest that you take some crocheting along to keep you busy whilst minding your stall and it makes things more sociable.
What I minded the most about the market that we did in Dunedin was the smoke! I really didn't want people to be smoking near my stuff.
Have you though about selling on Felt?
Best of luck hope you have fun and you sell some.

  22. Oh Kate, you are a crack up! Perhaps the government should introduce a three legged person anti-discrimination law. You and Lucy have a lovely bloggy relationship - she made reference to your wit in my comments yesterday.

And by the way, love the crocheted jewels. Would go well with one of Kirsty's granny square rings.

  23. Cooked fish eyeballs!? How terrifying! I'm sure your stall will be flocked to and your work adored. But just in case, take a fine mesh tennis racket and hit them right back. ; )
